A pre-participation physical (also known as a sports physical) is often required before school age or college students participate in group sports activities. Sometimes pre-participation physicals are required for other things like summer camp admission or nursing school. This ensures the health and safety of the participant and also serves to alert others to any medical condition that a participant may have.
